came on the 27th July 2023,
when Bart Armstrong became an ancestor.
Thus ends the weekly postings to this Blog which Bart had been writing for over 10 years.
This is a brief profile of Gordon Barton Armstrong and his principal research interest for which this website and Blog were created. A longer profile can be found by clicking on the “About the Author” link in the menu ribbon at the top left of this page.
Bart’s primary research focus was on those forgotten or unknown soldiers with Canadian connections who were awarded the American Medal of Honor. He uncovered information on over 60 Canadian-related service men and connected many of them to living relatives. They had served in the American Civil War, the Spanish American War, the First and Second World Wars, Vietnam, Korea and the Philippines.
Bart died quietly in his sleep at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on July 27th, the day after his 74th birthday.
He will be missed by many.
